The Comprehensive Thyroid Panel is a thorough assessment designed to analyze various aspects of thyroid function. It includes measurements of Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), T3 Uptake, Free T4, Total T4, and Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies.

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH): This test measures the level of TSH in the blood to check the function of the thyroid gland. High levels of TSH may indicate an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), while low levels can suggest an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism).

T3 Uptake: This test measures how much of the thyroid hormone-binding proteins in the blood are occupied by triiodothyronine (T3) and is used to evaluate thyroid function.

Free T4: Measures the amount of unbound T4 hormone in the blood, which is available to enter and affect the body’s tissues. Low or high levels can indicate thyroid dysfunction.

Total T4: Measures the overall level of T4 hormone in the blood. It is used to help diagnose hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism.

Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) Antibodies: Measures antibodies directed against thyroid peroxidase, an enzyme in the thyroid gland that is crucial to produce thyroid hormones. High levels of TPO antibodies may suggest autoimmune thyroiditis, a common cause of hypothyroidism.
